Description

Sharpless 2-86 (NGC 6823) is a small reflection nebula in the constellation Vulpecula. I chose the subject, as I normally do, based on imaging convenience. The subject was becoming visable from my observatory right as astronomical twilight ended and given that we were expecting several clear nights around the new moon, I figured I could get loads of data. I managed more than 35 hours of exposure over 5 nights and stacked just over 29 hours. I did get one more night of data but I hadn't made sure that APT could see my guide scope before I went to bed. Consequently guiding didn't start so the 3 minute exposures were unusable.  In astroimaging speak, that nights frames were rejected by subframeselector for eccentricity way higher than second standard deviation.
